About Us

Hír-Tér Publisher was founded in 1998. In the beginning we prepared mainly maps of countryside settlements with great precision just like orienteering maps are made. Currently we have a strong team of 12 people, 5 of them are doing this wonderful sport. By this sport we can keep our fitness and strength, and the same time this is a perfect source of happiness and self-fulfilment. We recommend to try this wounderful sport for everyone from the age of 6 to 90. This is an everlasting love for us, and this is the source of our special cartography knowledge, precision and persistence.

We started to publish our free maps of Budapest centrum in 2000. We gained the trust of many great partners already it the beginning such as Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, Varga Design, Vass shoes, Pomo D' Oro Restaurant, Gundel Restaurant.

Our circle of partners have increased rapidly, and as a result we established our first thematic publication, the CITY MAP DINING, in 2005. Since than we created three more editions: CITY MAP SHOPPING, CITY MAP PROGRAM, and in 2008 CITY MAP BY NIGHT.

The past decade was the period of continuous growth for the company. Today we publish approximately 60% of Budapest's tourist map demand (around 2,5-3 million copies a year). We are proud that our partners remain loyal to us, and that we produce the individual publications of several premium-category hotels in Budapest (Marriott Hotel, Sofitel Budapest, Kempinski Hotel Corvinus).
